


ABOUT RESTED TRIBE
My journey to becoming a baby and child sleep consultant began during the pandemic when I welcomed my daughter Gracie. From the moment we brought our special bundle of joy home, it was clear that sleep was not on her agenda. Like many new parents, we believed sleepless nights were just part of the package. You're supposed to be awake all night, right? Pacing around the house, rocking your baby, and walking around like a zombie is just what you sign up for, isn't it?
However, after 18 months of waking at least once every hour through the night, sleep deprivation took its toll on myself and my family. I realized that this wasn't normal or sustainable. I was surviving on an average of three hours of broken sleep a night, trying to manage a baby with a cow's milk protein allergy and severe reflux. The only way my daughter would sleep during the day was in a moving pram, so I spent endless hours pacing the streets in a zombie-like state. Despite scouring the internet for help and reading countless books, nothing worked. I felt like a failure as a mother because I believed every parent should know how to help their child sleep, right? Wrong.
Sleep is fundamental to survival, yet there is so little support and advice for parents in the depths of sleep deprivation. It can feel like a very lonely place, but please know that you are not alone. I have been where you are. I've co-slept, fed to sleep, driven for hours in the car, bought every sleep contraption on the internet, and even spent countless months sleeping in a cot from being too afraid to move. I have felt to blame, and I have felt like a failure. But now, with a clear and well-rested mind and body, I know that couldn't be further from the truth.
Seeking help from a sleep consultant quite literally changed my life. Gracie went from feeding to sleep every hour in my bed to sleeping through the night in her own cot, both day and night. I regained my energy and found myself again. Most importantly, it inspired me to help other families in the same way I had been helped. I now hold a Level 6 (degree level) accreditation from OCN as a Holistic Sleep Coach – the highest level of training available in evidence-based gentle sleep support. This is how Rested Tribe was born.
